A native of Western Pennsylvania, Dana Fields is a chosen vessel of God and exemplifies the life of Christ through her devotion to God, family and ministry. Born in Mt. Pleasant, Pennsylvania, she is the younger of two daughters born to Rev. Dr. William and Rev. Dr. Barbara Terry.

 

Actively singing since age 3, Dana grew up as part of the family quartet which traveled to various churches and events. The rich family legacy of music and ministry has been passed down to her for more than four generations.

 

She has been gifted by God to love the arts from singing, writing, the visual arts, acting and modeling. She is a singer/songwriter/lyricist at heart and chooses to use her gifts and talents to glorify God. In doing so, Dana’s music ministry is power-packed with vibrant vocals and relevant lyrics that will elevate the listener to a higher realm of personal praise! Her style is a blend of Contemporary Christian, Praise and Worship, Jazz Soul and R&B with a solid foundation of Gospel.

 

Along with serving in worship ministry at her home church, Christian Life Assembly, Camp Hill, PA and providing special music monthly at the Second Baptist Church, Mount Pleasant PA, some of Dana’s musical and speaking appearances include, PennDel AG-Women of Purpose Conferences, Victorious Christian Women/Excellence Conferences, The Mighty Men of Valor National Men's Conferences, Pennsylvania Baptist Convention, PA Southern Baptist Convention, The Gospel Heritage Foundation-Praise and Worship Conference, Messiah College, The American Music Fest, Barkleigh Productions Christian Breakfasts, Young At Heart Monthly Dinner, The Good News Cafe, CAMA (Capital Area Music Association), Brunch with Brenda ~ BAM (Brenda Alton Ministries), The Silvercord Assoc. of Ministers Wives and Ministers Widows of Pittsburgh, The PA State Interdenominational Ministers Wives & Ministers Widows Conference, PA’s Taste of Jazz Concert, Hampton University Ministers Conference~Whalum Recital Featured Vocalist and numerous church, community and business events. Dana has also served as the musical director for the Pinnacle Health Systems Wings to Fly Choir for over 10 years. She has sung background vocals for national and international gospel recording artists Steven Hurd, Tonex, Elder William Murphy, Yolanda Adams and Donnie McClurkin. She has shared the stage with various ministers, groups and artists such as Spirit Filled Ministries of Pittsburgh, PA, The Wilmington-Chester Mass Choir, The Gabriel Hardman Delegation, Kay Arthur, Vicki Winans, Ernest Pugh, Kim Jordan, Richard Smallwood, Leon Timbo, Michael Neale of Prestonwood Worship and America Idol’s Adam Brock to name a few. Lastly, she was a featured National Anthem vocalist for the former Harrisburg’s Arena football team, the Stampede.

 

To enlarge her territories, she stepped out in faith and God opened the door for Dana to be cast for the role of Velma in the 2006 production of Regina Taylor’s “Crowns” at the Open Stage of Harrisburg. Due to the production being widely and well received, Crowns returned to the Open Stage for its 2nd season in May 2007. For two seasons, 2011 & 2012 she performed the roll of the Teacher in the CLA Musical Production “The Gospel According to Scrooge”. Then in 2013, she performed the role of Martha Pentecost, in August Wilson’s play, “Joe Turner’s Come and Gone”, Open Stage Harrisburg. In the spring of 2017, she landed the lead role of Terry Lou in the musical stage play “The Rapture” and she made a cameo appearance as legendary Lena Horne in the musical stage play “A Warm Heart of Steel”.

 

From the age of 14 to 23, Dana modeled throughout the Pittsburgh area in print and runway. When she married DeWayne Fields in 1992, she closed that chapter of her life to relocate to Harrisburg, PA and concentrate on growing in her marriage. Seventeen years late, 2009, she was encouraged to step outin the modeling industry again. This faith-move afforded Dana many opportunities not only in modeling but as a sought after talent appearing in numerous local and national Industrial Videos, Commercials and establishing her as a Voiceover Talent.

 

Writing lyrics and melodies since childhood, Dana paired up with Motown Producer Leonard Caston to release her first single Waiting On You & I Will Sing Praises in 2002. In the summer of 2008, Dana Independently released her long awaited CD project “Nothing’s Impossible”. Then in November 2015, Her Single Yes To Your Love was released as a preview to her sophomore Album "A Personal Experience" released in September 2016. The sophomore CD was ranked #21 on the June 2017 Top Gospel Album Billboard Charts. Dana was also ranked #1 in Pennsylvania on the Reverbnations.com Christian/Gospel Charts. In the Fall of 2017, Dana won a Prayze Factor Peoples Choice Awards as best Neo Soul Artist and in 2018, "A Personal Experience" was nominated as best Gospel/CCM Album for the 16th Annual Independent Music Awards. In March 2018, Dana performed as a finalist at the Stellar Awards First Annual Independent Artist Showcase.

Dana’s accomplishments are nothing short of gravity defying as she pursues her dreams all while working full time, caring for her household and serving in her community. She is a faith lead dreamer and a visionary who considers being a wife and mother her greatest accomplishments. Dana happily resides in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania with her husband DeWayne of 27 years along with their two sons Dayne and Donovan.

 

Dana is a dynamic soloist, lyricist, praise leader, actor/model and speaker. Her vibrant vocals and her heart for people will usher you into the presence of the Lord and cause you to celebrate Jesus with her.
